Neiana And Oralia Are Searched

Logfile from Hannah.

You take off.

Sky Over Southeastern Bowl

The jagged peaks of the Weyr's exploded caldera shelter dragons aflight from errant sea breezes, but the scent of ocean water pervades all. Weyr entrances pockmark weathered black rock, sometimes allowing a glimpse of bright dragons on their ledges; to the northwest, a large portion of the volcanic wall has exploded outward in a trapezoidal wedge, allowing tradewinds to blow crookedly against the inner walls. Perhaps this explains the density of weyrs in this more sheltered, southeastern portion of the broken bowl. They cluster above the living cavern and other public areas, whereas, elsewhere, the weyrs seem more isolated and evenly spaced. The five fingers of Ista Weyr block seaward progress, but dragons sometimes slip between the peaks, nimble and delicate against the upthrust rock.

It is a spring noon.

Below, you see nine dragons.

To the northwest, you see a blue dragon.

Above the Bowl

The ocean's tranquil thermals settle within the center section of the bowl's airspace, unusually smooth and bouyant — though oft to switch as the seasons shift. Lingering beneath spires' constant presence, the perpetual activity of the weyr can be observed from every direction: from the testing rustle of dragonet wings, to the playful games sent aloft.

It is a spring midmorning.

Below, you see six dragons and two people.

Blue Valanth is here.

Central Bowl

Seven spindles brush the clouds overhead, displaying a jagged, spired cotillion grey-stoned majesty. The bowl from here is expansively large, extending a full half-mile in both directions, and though a bit of a stretch at times, most of the hubs of activity can be easily observed. Hard-packed ground shows the common pathways, all of them meandering about the craggy bunch of boulders that form a centerpiece within the middle of the otherwise vast emptiness.

The hatching grounds and leadership weyrs are located to the north, while the sounds of herdbeasts noisily allude to the pens slightly east of there. Constant traffic marks the entrance to the westward living caverns, and a glance southeast reveals the cold, glittering, glacial lake.

It is a spring midmorning.

To the north, you see a gold and a brown dragon.

To the southeast, you see four dragons.

Above, you see a blue and a brown dragon.

Clinging to footholds in the boulder-mound are eighteen firelizards.

Green Kelitath, green Fiareth, blue Taiith, bronze Nezdarvyth, blue Vorkoroth, and blue Rubyth are here.

You see a wagonmaster and Shafirah here.

Oralia and Neiana are here.

Valanth drops in from above, landing with a light *thud*.

Neiana stops or rather slides to a stop "It's okay really we're just playing a game, though that hat is mine." moving to Nelans side as a hand is extended for that hat in question "I think it was a way for him to get away from the nannies and out here in the fresh air."

After you release the straps, Dhiammarath stretches out one pale, iridescent forearm allowing you to scoot down that pale hide. With a final release of grip, you fall the little ways down to the ground.

With a bob of creamy auburn head, Rilskiath offers a gentlemanly arm to assist Lyria in dismounting.

Kia giggles softly a nod at Valanth before she unbuckles her straps and slips to the ground.

Oralia nods in agreement and decides she'll be nice to the lil brat then. Ick, the nannies. "Heh, I understand completely. I remember when they tried to shove /me/ in there," she says with a look of disgust. As if people. Although her conversation is cut short as a trio of dragons lands in the Bowl. Oooo purty. Hey ain't that Hannah? Interesting. Oralia smiles and waves kindly, placing a hand over her eyes to shield the sun and get a look at the dragons.

"You're looking awfully pale.." Hannah mutters darkly when she's finished dismounting. Inspecting her dragon's color closely, she ignores the activity in the bowl for a moment, then turns to her companions. "Is she looking kind of pale?" Shaking her head, she puts it off to the side and then turns to survey the bowl. "It's been so long since I came home. I hope Mother's not too busy." She offers a quick smile to Oralia and Neiana.

Neiana turns as the dragons land in the bowl "Seems we have vistors I think," wrapping an arm around the shoulders of the boy, blocking him from the gusts of wind that the dragons kick up as they land."

Kia gives Valanth a pat as she loosens his straps a bit. "We'll get you in tip top shape soon enough. Thankfully High Reaches is just a hop between. Figured we could bring this graduation present over for Kal." is said quietly to the blue. Lyria and Hannah get grins as she heads towards them. Hannah's comment has her peering at the gold with a raised brow "She does look a bit off color actually." tucking the package under an arm she waves to those in the bowl already "Either of you seen Kal around? She's got this big brown dragon with her usually.."

Neiana rubs her neck and frowns slightly "Hmmmm I think I saw her much earlier in the Living Caverns but haven't see her sense." she's trying to be helpful she really is "With the way the weather has been she's more then likely holed up somewhere warm and dry."

Lyria slips down from Rilskiath's neck, who is currently convincing Lyria to go find him some of his favorite Reachian related foods because that will make him allll better. "Mm…Rilskiath has a bit of a cold," her dragon, who is attempting to look innocent, is shot a look. "Yeah. Haven't seen Kal in ages, really." Tis always fun to bring the newly graduated presents.

Oralia raises a brow and turns to regard Neiana. Well she looked safe enough, time to inspect the others. Skipping over with a grin she places herself in the circle of dragonriders and smile, "'Ello, I'm Oralia." She nods to Hannah and the others, though she'd not seen the before that she knew of. As she glances around at the dragons she must agree, "Aye I think they might all be comin' down with something." She pouts, she really loved animals and hated to see them sickly.

Hannah again turns her dragon and eyes her thoughtfully. "Hmm. Maybe I won't be extending this trip longer than a quick chat with Mother." She turns to Kia and Lyria, "Lyria, make sure you watch him. There are a number of sick fire lizards lurking around the weyr. You know, I haven't seen Kaltia, Kal now right?, in ages either. Not since her last Istan Candidacy." Taking off the non-essential flight gear and tucking them into her straps, she introduces herself with a quick smile, "Well met Oralia. I'm Hannah."

Neiana steps closer to the trio just as Nelan dashes back inside the Caverns "I'm Neiana, your right about sick Firelizards. I think even a few around here have died from it but I'm not sure."

Kia laughs softly at Lyria's look and glances over her shoulder at Valanth with a shake of her head "Valanth's not been himself lately either. I'm thinking he's just over worked with our Wingleader duties of late. So we're taking a few days break." shooting another look at her companions dragons she hrms "Hopefully he's not got anything besides that. Even Tasi's Aeokaith has been looking off color recently." Oralia recieves a bright smile "Good Day Oralia and Neiana, I'm Kia and that over there is Valanth" she points him out just to be sure.

Lyria gives the big brown a pat on the nose,"I will, I will." He's been drinking his fluids and all that jazz. Short waves are given to the two Reachians,"All both of you. I'm Lyria." The girl folds her arms and takes a look around the bowl,"I haven't been up here in a long time. Anything interesting going on?" she asks of the 'natives'.

Oralia nods with a grin and regards Hannah's gold with the same thoughtfulness. Thank Faranth her flits were showing no signs of illnesses, but either way she'd left them back in the Weyr for safekeeping. Ora smiles back at Kia, and looks at her dragon as well before turning back to the group. "Well met," she replies and looks at Neiana curiously. Where'd she put the brat? Either way she directs her attention to Lyria, "Sick flits and the like, I think Damia, the baker 'round here, is cookin' up some sorta cure. Least that what she had me doin' yesterday." She shudders at the thought, how moldy meat was going to help she didn't know.

Hannah hmms softly, "I think N'ano and I will have to meet sometime shortly. It wouldn't do for the weyr to begin losing fighting dragons to sickness." Dusting her hands off on her pants, goldrider turns mind and attention elsewhere. "Well met, Neiana. Have you seen my mother, er, Areiah today?" is asked of the two 'natives' before a quick aside to Lyria and Kia, "I would love to go with you to see Kal too."

Neiana wrinkles her nose "Is that what that awful smell from the kitches was? Anything that smells that bad should cure just about anything." looking over at Lyria with a slight shrug "Just alot of people taking care of sniffiling dragons and firelizards really. Thankfully mine haven't shown any signs yet, but who knows when that cuold change." looking at the gold with squinted eyes "She doens't look like she's feeling like a dragon should does she." clucking her tongue slightly as a few other dragons in the bowl are given the same thoughtful gaze.

Kia wrinkles her nose in thought "Sick firelizards and dragons, I'd heard of that. Just didn't think it could happen to Valanth." is murmmered thoughtfully before Hannah's inquiry has her smiling "Sure I'll bet Kal would love company, if she's not busy. You said you saw her earlier?" is asked of Neiana "I could have Valanth query her brown. Might save us some searching if our dragons are really getting sick. Still holding out hope that Valanth's just over taxed."

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that Rilskiath mutters with a blossom of gold-dappled crimson « Silly firelizards with their runny noses. Fluttering around and sneezing who knows where so then /we/ get sick. » Oh the unsanitariness of it all.

Lyria chuckles at the mention of Damia,"Well, I wouldn't put it past Mia to come up with a recipe that will cure the lizards. That woman can do whatever she puts her mind to." A shoulder is shrugged to Kia,"Well that certainly would save the time of scouring the whole weyr for the girl."

Oralia nods in agreement, yeah that was what that smell was. Now just picture Oralia having to carry it in her arms from the stables all the way to the kitchens, and then having to clean it. Yeah. Exactly. Responding to Hannah's inquiery, "Nah I ain't seen Areiah…" not that she knew who that was. Oralia then wonders who Kal is and where these 'foreigners' are going to. Ora tries to meet everyone, and she probably has, but she can barely remember her own name and you can't very much depend on her to remember meeting others. But, she'd be all the help that a good lil native could be. "You need any help finding her?" Ora's on it.

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that she rumbles softly through sensations of sweetgrass and lemon like paper lanterns fluttering in the breeze, « Indeed. »

Neiana nods "It was in the Living Caverns around BReakfast time, but I've not seen her since."

Hannah shrugs slightly, "I'll just have Dhiammarath contact Ysbryth to find Mother. She might be busy, though I'm not sure if she is as busy as she used to be. Last time I was here, she was still Senior." Her nose wrinkles, "The thought of something that nasty being a cure is … indecent."

Lyria leans against a nearby rock with a shrug as they decide what they're doing, who they're seeing. Lyri's mostly just along for the ride. And to pay a few visits to whoever she hasn't seen in a while. "Okies. Soo….Ah…" A nod goes to Oralia,"I guesso? She's one of the Just Graduated weyrlings." Which means she could be anywhere, pretty much.

Kia shakes her head "I agree indecent and well just plain sad for the circumstances." Valanth stirs from his lounging position his lids blinking as he becomes more alert. Stretching he seems to take an interest in the people his rider is talking with. Kia just gives him a strange look "Either way he says that Kal is busy at the moment. So I guess i"ll just leave it here for her. Or come back some other time."

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that Valanth drifts in with a tang of peppermint to his thoughts «Perhaps a cure will be found. As that one says another has been working on» the sound of slow trickling water fading to nothingness.

Neiana hmmms as she nods and listens "You cold leave it in the Living Caverns, she's sure to see it there."

Oralia would have to agree with Hannah on the indecency of Damia's cure. Sure smelled that way. "Oh, yeah I know who you're talkin' about. Kal's probably busy though." She nods to Kia as her suspicions are confirmed. "So Kal's busy, I think Areiah must be in her weyr 'cause I thought she headed up that way…" she trails off trying to remember. She shrugs and grins, "Anybody else we lookin' for?" Hey, it wasn't everyday some Istans just dropped down for a nice old visit to the Reaches.

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that Rilskiath mentally shrugs with a swirl of creamy ivory. « Well maybe these two will help. We should take them back to Ista with us, don'tchu think so, Valanth? »

Dhiammarath settles comfortably into a curled position as inner eyelids drift shut. Hannah casts a quick look at the pale Istan queen before turning back to Kia and Lyria, "He did? We could leave the gift with the Weyrlingmaster? Dhiammarath says that Ysbryth believes Mother is down with the hides. Which means it's not a good time to bother her." She gives Kia and Lyria a glance, "Do we want to try to find the Weyrlingmaster? Or come back again on another day?"

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that she whispers softly, her voice thready and darkened in deep jade colors. « Whatever for? Take them back to Ista? » Not quite purposefully dense, but instead a little cranky.

Lyria runs her hand through her hair in thought. "Uhm…I can't think of anyone in particular." Lyria eyes her brown dragon who has been slowly edging over to Lyria and the little group of people, setting his head by their feet,"There anyone you want to visit?" The dragon just tilts his head in what seems to be an amused no. "Well, I'm sorry, sir, but I'm not going to just stay /here/ all day even if you want to."

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that Valanth swishes 'round mentally with touches of alcohol to his tone «Take them home with us? I agree completely. That one that had the kidlet earlier can help Kia massage my muscles. They're sore you know.»

Kia is almost knocked over by Valanth as he moves forward to take a closer look at Neiana. Kia gives him a weird look "Why ever do you want me to ask that?" he nudges her again "Well alright I'll ask but if she laughs you're going to have to be nice." grinning at Neiana she shrugs "Valanth would like to know if you're good at giving massages. He says his muscles are sore."

Oralia places a hand on her hip and awaits some orders. Or something to do anyway. For the moment her icy blue yes land on Hannah's gold who seems to have decided a nap is in order. She grins and turns back to regard the other dragons, and would you look at that. A brown. Oooooo. Ora can't resist and before you know it she's right next to Lyria's brown prepared to scratch the ridges. She turns to Lyria with a smile and questions, "Mind if I pet him a bit?" It's always nice to ask.

Hannah watches Kia's and Lyria's dragon movements even as she listens to the gold's mental comments. Casting her dragon a dark look, she mutters, "Be quiet you and let them do what they will," under her breath. Amusement laces her voice as she asks, "That time again, eh, Kia? Lyria?"

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that she allows the sharp edges of crankiness to shred her sweet sounding words into disjointed sounds that no longer sound melodious. « Make sure to disinfect them. Or at least their firelizards. » Grouch. Grouch. Grouch.

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that Rilskiath is quite amused with these two little Reachians, really. Oooh look and this one's scritching his nose. « Ahh…Yes. Certainly we will disinfect them. Yes we'll take them back and we'll let them stay with the others » He's referring to the candidates, of course, « but they can come out to help scritch us. » Riiight.

Neiana nods slowly "I'm okay at it I guess, moving closer to Valanth and reaching out to the dragon slowly "Where should I start?"

Lyria begins to smirk at Rilskiath, then nods to Oralia,"Be my guest, dear. But be warned that once you start he likely won't let you stop." Indeed the dragon's becoming quite infatuated with the little Reachian as he decides to edge away from his rider and toward Oralia. A shoulder is shrugged to Hannah,"Mmm…..Looks like it might be."

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that Valanth is aparently still waiting for the response to his question. Ah there it is «Quite willing to take orders they are. Disinfection is of course in order. That is but a minor inconveince. This one should stay with the others too.» he's getting himself a massage thearpist you know.

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that she rumbles faintly. « Whatever. »

Oralia is already attending to Rilskiath's eye ridges, grinning ear to ear at such a task. She is half listening to the conversation at hand, but is more in tune with the brown then anything else. "Cute lil thing aren't ya?" she cooes and turns only to smile at Lyria for a second. What time? Time for what? She's not really listening again and is having a mighty good time looking rather tiny in the precense of a brown. Funny, her fostering with Nylca had begun in the same way.

Kia shakes her head "Oh he didn't mean right now actually. Neiana was it?" is asked as she swats at Valanth's muzzle "Just back up for a second alright, you've almost gone and stepped on my foot." a grin is sent towards Hannah "You know I think you could be right." turning back to Neiana she beams "Aparently he's decided that you should come back to the Weyr with us. He wants you on hand to massage him whenever he needs it. Oh and to stand for Miyakath's clutch too. Almost forgot to add that part" hands are folded behind her back as she waits for a response.

Hannah shakes her head a little, taking a moment to inspect her straps and equipment. "You can never tell when they might pick up on someone." She glances back over at the two girls, "Maybe we ought to check with Pyrene or the Headwoman before you nab them? Just so the weyr knows where they've gone off to."

Neiana goggles looking around before nodding slowly "I'd…I'd be happy to do both." looking at Valanth just to make sure.

Lyria watches as Rilskiath sends his tail curling around Oralia's feet. "Sorry dear but it looks like you're not getting out of this." Lyria shakes her head at her lifemate and nods her head to Kia's question,"Same question. Wanna Stand for Miyakath's clutch?" A nod goes to Hannah,"That would be a good idea. Ehm….Know where to find 'em?"

Oralia grins at Neiana "Congratulations!" She's about to respond to Hannah when all of a sudden she's been nabbed as well. She turns to Lyria with excitement, "Really? Yeah, you bet!" she responds excitedly and rubs the brown appreciatively. She's in a bit of a trance but she manages to respond, "Py's either in the caverns yellin' at brats or up in the Weyr…" She stands there a bit numb, her hands still moving in a rythmic motion over Rilskiath's ridges.

Kia is practically bouncing herself "Oh yeah asking to be sure of course." Neiana gets another grin as Valanth moves around his lifemate to stick close to his chosen one. Valanth sends a look towards Rilskiath just to make sure that brown is keeping clear of his find.

Neiana walks to the Caverns.

Neiana steps out from the Weyr's living caverns.

Hannah busies herself readying her lifemate for flight, and checking to make sure the gold is in condition to fly. Glancing there way every so often to watch the scene unfolding, she adds, "That's good. We wouldn't want to incur their wrath." Goldrider softens her statement with a small smile.

Lyria grins at Oralia,"Lovely!" Rilskiath rumbles with his own excitement cause, mmm, he's got someone to pat him. How fun. He tilts one of his own eyes to Valanth and winks. Nice finds for both of them. "Here, I'm having Valanth ask around…" Lyri pauses for a moment, going about checking straps because she wouldn't want one of her soon-to-be passengers to fall off of her dragon. "Ah…Seems there's no one who's available to drop by. He can relay the message, though…"

Kia figures tightening straps might be a good thing so she manages to get this done while waiting for Lyria's okay to steal people signal. "I don't see why they'd mind. We steal their residents, they steal ours. It all works out in the end" yes Kia logic. "So you think you'll enjoy the warmth of Ista Neiana?"

Oralia makes room for Lyria so she can adjust the straps. Thank goodness Ora was no newbie to flying, though she'd never been on a dragon bigger than green. Nevertheless she turns and smiles at Neiana, they sure were lucky little natives. She pats the rumbling Rilskiath with pleasure and tries to remember if she needs anything. Oh right, she doesn't own anything. Grinning to Neiana she agrees, "Yeah, can't wait to know what it's like to be warm," she chuckles and looks at Lyria curiously.

Hannah's mind is already turning onto other matters, mentally tallying things she needs for the weyr. As she mounts her dragon, goldrider offers a smile and a quick, "Congrats," before settling in and doing up all of her straps. "Kia," she calls out since Kia seemed to be in charge of the little trip to visit Kal, "What about Kal's gift? Will we just be coming back later, then?"

Kia glances up towards the goldrider and nods "I think it'd be best to just come back later. I thought about it and I'd rather give it to her in person. Who knows might get to nab another candidate if they've got such good pickings around here." a wink is sent towards Neiana as she gives Valanth a pat.

Lyria shrugs her shoulders and pats her brown's neck. "It's really quite nice. And it's almost summer, so, y'know, y'all can get a nice little tan." Lyria easily settles herself into Ski's straps and holds a hand out for Oralia,"You done this before? Flying, that is?" She may not need the asistence to get atop a little green but she may need a little help up onto a considerably sizeable brown. "C'mon, let go of her, Ski." The dragon uncurls his tail from Oralia's feet and moves his head over finally, probably figuring that now that she'll be in their clutches he can go find her later.

Kia glances over at Lyria and nods to herself "Lets get this show on the road then. We'll need to get you two settled in the barracks." swinging up a'top Valanth she reaches down towards Neiana much like Lyria is doing "He migth be smaller than most but if you've not done this before it may be tricky. Just grab ahold and we'll get you all strapped in after you're up here."

Oralia grins and nods to Lyria, yeah she might need a bit of help onto the brown monster. Regaining usage of her feet she makes her way over to Lyria and hefts herself up onto a cinnamon colored leg. And, somewhat ungracefully, she manages to pull her slender self up onto the brown's back. "I think I'm good," she calls down to Lyria with a wave. Off we go, woohoo.

Dhiammarath lowers one iridescent, pale forearm, allowing you to scamper up and grab ahold of her neck. With a slight lunge, you finally settles yourself between white-gold neckridges.

Kia gives a pat to the kindly offered forleg and swings up onto Valanth's neck before settling between azure neckridges.

Neiana nods before mounting Vlanth

Neiana gives a pat to the kindly offered forleg and swings up onto Valanth's neck before settling between azure neckridges.

With a regal sweep of his head, Rilskiath allows Oralia to board and settle into a nook between ridges.

Dhiammarath uncurls herself to stretch and stand ready to fly at Hannah's command. "I'll see you guys back at the weyr," goldrider calls out before having Dhiammarath launch into the sky.

After you release the straps, Dhiammarath stretches out one pale, iridescent forearm allowing you to scoot down that pale hide. With a final release of grip, you fall the little ways down to the ground.

Valanth circles in and lands.

Neiana giggles softly a nod at Valanth before she unbuckles her straps and slips to the ground.

Aeokaith rumbles gently, peering with considerable interest at the newcomers to the weyr. His eyes whirl with slow, lazy interest, and another rumble seems to be a question towards Valanth.

Hannah dismounts and heads toward her weyr. "I'll be seeing you later, Kia, Lyria. Let me know when you want to go back to the weyr." To Oralia and Neiana, "Congrats and welcome to the weyr." With that she turns and disappears up the stairway.

Stone steps, well worn and wide, head up to the weyrs above.

Dhiammarath> Hannah disappears up the stairs to the Weyrleaders' weyrs above.

Dhiammarath> Neiana peers around te bowl, "It's alot warmer here."

Dhiammarath> Lyria helps Oralia down from Rilskiath with a grin. "Lovely. Welcome to Ista." A wave is sent to Hannah, and she beckons the two newest assets to the weyr toward the caverns. Follow me…"

Dhiammarath> Oralia brushes herself off and rubs Ril's side with a grin before standing near Lyria. Phew, she's still alive. Ora takes off her sweater appreciatively with a laugh, "Hey, it really is pretty warm." She smiles and follows Lyria.

Dhiammarath> Valanth swings his head around to peer at more or less ledge friend I guess you'd call them.
