E'ren And Xeth Come For A Visit

Logfile from Hannah-HT

You go into the living cavern.

Living Cavern (#4190)

The smooth, rounded walls of the vast living cavern sweep upward from an oval base, two dragonlengths long and one wide, large enough to seat every member of the Weyr at mealtimes. The soft blackness of the lava which forms these caverns swallows glowlight, so shelves for glowbaskets abound, dotting the walls every three or four paces and casting gentle greenish light up toward the sparkles of gold volcanic glass embedded in the ceiling. Ancient lustrous tables run along the long axis of the cavern, and at the far end is the raised dais and high table, where the Weyrleaders and their honored guests eat during formal occasions. Behind the high table, the Weyr's symbol is chiseled into the stone: a smoking mountain in black, on an orange shield, trimmed in gold.

Perched near the food are twenty-seven firelizards.

You see Moufles, Sketch, Snow, Calandra, Nappa, What's for Dinner, Mending Basket, a crawler in the corner, and Dusky here.

N'ano and Tstar are here.

"Wha? No… so do it! Stophey… Just Gah! Ok ok… Geez…" is N'ano's little blurb as his eyes come back into focus, soon after blinking at his surroundings "Huh? Oh… food, right." he makes his way over to his savior, the food buffet, and fills a plate with his usual helping. Upon hearing footsteps out behind him, he twists his head, offering an awkward nod to those entering "Hey! Y'hungry? Want anythin'?"

Tstar blinks and nods to n'ano. "Yes indeed! that would be most welcome. I /finnally/ convinced Elbareth to go to sleep and now /I'm/ starved." She moves towards the bronze rider with a hint of relief.

Hannah slips into the living caverns, not particularly hungry but more thirsty. "Hello…" Pouring herself some icy water, she sits herself down.

N'ano nods once at Tstar "Ye want anythin' special or will whatever I get do?" he questions, looking over his shoulder once again "There's tubers… wherry… and just some other green gunk here."

Tstar shakes her head. "Just whaever… no green gunk though. I don't want to have to explain to elbareth that /no/ it's not green in her honor." Arrogant little piece of work, isn't she? Hannah gets a smile and a nod. "hello, How's Dhammraith?" (OOC: sorry for the spelling.)

N'ano half grins as he piles a generous serving onto a plate, delivering it to the green rider shortly after "There ya go… still warm, thank Faranth." not like /he/ wouldn't eat it. His own plate is set aside onto the table before he twirls the chair around backwards to sit.

Tstar takes the plate and twirls her chair around as well, but for a different position. For she takes a seat perched on the back her feet in the seat as she digs in. "Thanks N'ano, you're a life saver. I'm starved."

Hannah smiles, "I was pretty starved earlier, but I took my dinner out and ate at the beach." This weyrling does love Ista's black sand beaches. Curling herself in a chair, she sips her water, "How is Elbareth? And Bydelth? Working those wings?" Dhiammarath sure is. Both of them want to be able to fly.

N'ano shrugs "No prob." he replies simply before chowing down on his own meal, only to finish not too much later. Contemplation of seconds is halted as he hesitates in standing, and soon after, sits again. Turning his head towards Hannah, he nods "Aye… the beach? We can go there?" question is set aside for the time being as he replies to the inquiry "Bydelth's—well, let's just say I'm surprised that he hasn't broken anythin' yet… keeps flappin' 'em in the barracks!"

Tstar shrugs. "Elbareth took a little convincing to /excersise/ and not skip practice and get strait to flying. I had to work out some way of excersising my 'wings' with her…" Thereby re-inventing the pushup? who knows.

Hannah blushes, "Errr.. I'm not sure. But I was only gone for a moment and Dhiammarath was sleeping." Oh, dear, did she err? Hopefully not too badly. It was really only a looksie, not a sit down enjoy the view for hours exersion. "Dhia can't really flap her wings to easily in her couch, and she loves the sun so she takes advantage of the bowl."

N'ano doesn't make a deal out of it so a shrug follows "Ah… well, he and Itazurath were both flappin' today in the barracks. Ain't no damage /yet/." he emphasizes the last "But I keep tellin' him to go outside and do that… a bit anxious, I guess."

Tstar nods. "Even elbareth'd have trouble flapping in the barracks and she's one of the smaller ones this go'round." No clue as to the average sizes at this stage. She's never seen dragons grow before. "Good to hear he's… enthusiastic." Back to Hannah. "And good to hear Dhiammarath hasn't tried it… It would be a most… interesting… mess to clean up."

Skiyra tiptoes gracefully in from the South Caverns.

Hannah giggles at Tstar, "Yeah. She might break something with those wings of hers!" And Dhia's been growing like a little — err— big weed. Sipping more of her drink, she nods shyly to Skiyra, who enters the Living Caverns.

Shaela hugs Hannah! Hannah peeks out from behind Dhiammarath and gives you a shy smile. She encourages Dhiammarath to snake out a honey-tipped tail to wrap around you in a large *sqeeze*! « A hug from Hannah. »

N'ano grins "Well, I yelled at him a bit… so he finally stopped after I pushed his wings down m'self. Then he went on chasin' a bug. No wait, I think that was 'fore… huh." so he's losing his memory. No biggie, right? "Enthusiastic to say the least!" he eventually adds on, even if it's a bit out of place. Also taking notice of Skiyra, he gives a half wave of a greeting.

Skiyra wanders into theliving Caverns, ang pours herself a glass of fruit juice. She wanders over, journal in hand, and pulls up her usual place on the floor by N'ano's feet. "Hi everyone." She says softly, settign her drink aside, and opening her Journal to an empty page, momentarily passing a page full of colorful pictures of dragonets.

Tstar nods. "Indeed, could you see the ruckus?" Skiyra gets a nod and "Hello." Then back to N'ano. "He go stuborn on you yet? Or does he let you sleep without trying to drag you out at night for anything."

Hannah giggles and imagines N'ano attempting to push his dragon's wings down. "Dhiammarath wouldn't dare to attempt any major wing flapping." She pauses, then hearing Tstar's question, she asks softly, "Does Elbareth do that to you?"

"Sleep? I wish… well, he doesn't drag me out or nuttin' at night, but he squirms constantly, tryin' to get comfy 'gainst the growin' pains, y'know? /That's/ what keeps me up all night. And then if I try 'n take naps durin' the day, that's when he wakes me up wantin' an oiling or something." Lowering his head to glance at Skiyra, he questions "Why not sit in a chair? Much cleaner—" he reaches down to swipe his finger against the floor, demonstrating the collection of dust along it "since these floors probably ain't been cleaned for a month!"

N'ano *claims that. *nod*

Skiyra tips her head backwards to look up at N'ano. "I'm happy here. Unless /you/ want me to sit in a chair?" She smiles at him.

N'ano rolls a shoulder "Whatever… I was just suggestin' or something. Probably more comfy, but that's just my opinion." he responds, motioning to the chair one last time before devoting his attention to his mug and not changing the focus point until every last sip of his juice is gone… well, that'd be now.

Hannah watches the girl sit herself next to her fellow weyrling. Raising her eyebrows, she must remember to give N'ano a bit of teasing later. "Dhiammarath likes to be shiny. She asks for oilings all the time.. especially during the late afternoon.. just when I want to eat.." is said softly by the goldling.

Tstar nods to Hannah. "Yeah. She'd have made one heck of a starcrafter." She chuckles softly from her perch on the back of her chair. "She doesn't shift alot, but she's up about every hour or two wanting to be out and about. At least at night. Never seems to happen during the day."

Skiyra smiles sadly, wishing she had a dragonet so that she could join in on the discussion. She looked at the chairs, and then at herself in her white shortpants sitting on the floor. She sighed and got up, brishing the dust off of her shortpants, and depositing herself in the chair beside N'ano, a little more selfconcious now.

N'ano turns his attention back to Hannah "Aye… they always seem to fing the most inconvenient times, eh?" he chuckles, shaking his head a couple times "They'll grow out of it at least—well, I hope anyway… though that probably won't be for a while since they still have a ways to grow." eventually, his attention turns back to the other girl "See? Ain't so dirty on a chair, eh?"

Skiyra looks over at N'ano. "I'm not used to chairs. Runners, yes. Floor, yes. Water, obviously—" she gestures to herself "but chairs, no."

Tstar chuckles at Skiyra. "Chairs are a very usefull convention, though tables are more spacious." Could she be teasing… Yes. Scary thought. "And I hope so, N'ano. I need /some/ sleep at night. and it seems to work better if I get it all at once."

Hannah watches the girl with shy curiousity, then realizes that she hasn't yet introduced herself. "I'm Hannah… " See, she remembers her manners. Weyrlinghood has her all thrown off sometimes though. "They do seem to find the most inconvenient times. But.. I don't mind it." All that expanse of white-gold hide is getting harder and harder to oil. She's getting so big, y'see.

Dhiammarath> Above, Xeth spirals down from above.

Dhiammarath> Above, Xeth glides down to land in the bowl.

Dhiammarath> Xeth glides in for a landing.

N'ano half grins "Well, chairs aren't that bad, trust me." with that said, he turns back to the others "Wha? Oh, yeah… well, I don't mind it too much, I'd just like to get some sleep every now 'n then, y'know? It's hard workin' and takin' classes all day and then be kept up all night."

Dhiammarath> Xeth

Dhiammarath> This scrawny sprig of a dragon is pungently pressed with rosemary's hue to mark her sharp-flavored, sharp-minded: she's a dusky, dusty green from the narrow slope of muzzle back along every slim inch of her sylph's frame. The same silver that showcases tail's every motion lines the underside of full, delicate wings and sparks mischief in her gaze; her dark side hints in the near-black that needles talons and neckridges with prickly, peppery bite.

Dhiammarath> Drawn across the spice of rosemary hide is the ripe sweetness of tangerine-bronze leather straps, hooked snug with gleaming brass buckles.

Dhiammarath> Swathed in Xeth's green and silver fire are E'ren, Khory, and Kiyone.

Dhiammarath> Xeth is 13 Turns, 10 months, and 8 days old.

Dhiammarath> She is 46 feet (15m) long, with a wingspan of 76 feet (25m).

Dhiammarath> Xeth seems to be listening.

Dhiammarath thinks to you, « E'ren is the rider of green Xeth of High Reaches Weyr. »

Dhiammarath> Xeth rumbles softly in greeting as they land.

Dhiammarath> Swathed in Xeth's dusty green and silvered flash, Kiyone blinks and stares around her, "Wwhere are we?" she stumbles over her words as she checks to see she still has her book with her.

Dhiammarath> Dhiammarath croons a sleepy greeting as the green lands. Honey-tipped tail is curled about her white-gold form while one glittery eye opens to regard the newcomers. Visitors?

Dhiammarath> Swathed in Xeth's dusty green and silvered flash, Khory finally lets go. Hands unclench, and he reaches for his mesage.

Skiyra laughs, still self-concious, and longing for the kind of companionship that these three shared with their dragons, and their link to eachother. She sighed, not realizing it was aloud, before beginning to write in a very intricate script in her journal.

Hannah tilts her head to the side, "There are visitors in front of the barracks.. 'Leastwise, that's what Dhiammarath says," is murmured softly.

Dhiammarath> Swathed in Xeth's dusty green and silvered flash, E'ren helps his passengers with the riding straps, making sure they're able to 'dismount' before he does. "Welcome to Ista Weyr. Do you know where the person you're looking for is, Khory?"

Dhiammarath> Swathed in Xeth's dusty green and silvered flash, Kiyone lets go of the straps and waits her turn to dismount.

Dhiammarath> Swathed in Xeth's dusty green and silvered flash, Khory shrugs and shakes his head. "Haven't a clue. Just know that I'm to send this message to Jesha, from Rhoswen." The letter itself is firmly held within his grasp. And with that, the man slides down off of the dragon, trying not to fall.

Dhiammarath> Khory slithers down Xeth's narrow shoulder, borne by the flash and fall of her hide's silvered sparks.

Tstar blinks at Hannah. "'sthat so? Good thing elbareth is asleep. I don't think I want to find out how she reacts to strangers just yet…" probably try to 'fix them up'… but who knows. "I hope they'll grow out of the timing if nothing else."

Dhiammarath> Swathed in Xeth's dusty green and silvered flash, Kiyone blinks at the surrounding, "How long are we here for?" She directs her question to E'ren.

"Are there?" N'ano questions Hannah "Huh, I wonder who. Ah well, I ain't 'bout to go lookin' though. Not 'less I had to—like if Byd started callin' out that he was hungry or itchy or whatever."

Dhiammarath> Kiyone slithers down Xeth's narrow shoulder, borne by the flash and fall of her hide's silvered sparks.

Dhiammarath> E'ren slithers down Xeth's narrow shoulder, borne by the flash and fall of her hide's silvered sparks.

Skiyra writes some in her journal, an looks over at Tstar and Hannah, and then to N'ano. "I wish I had a dragon."

Dhiammarath> E'ren gives Xeth's shoulder a gentle thump in thanks before he looks to Kiyone. "Well, I was going to wait for Khory to deliver his message. Did you have something you wanted to do here?"

"They woke Dhiammarath up…" Hannah comments, getting images from her dragon. "A greenrider.. and two.. others." Smiling shyly at Skiyra, the weyrling is at a loss as to what to say. For the longest time, she herself kept getting searched with no Impressions. Blushing slightly, she afears of making a social blunder.

Dhiammarath> Kiyone smiles up at E'ren and shakes her head, "I have never been here, therefore I have no idea what to do." she pulls out her pencil and opens her book to the back cover for a blank page and begins to sketch the surrounding.

Dhiammarath> Dhiammarath wakes up fully from her nap and snakes her head around to watch them with aloof curiousity. She rumbles and tilts her head to the side before her attention goes to the older green. Hmm.

Tstar arches an eyebrow at hannah. "That so? may hap she knows what they're up to?" Skiyra gets a long look, but Tstar says noting. What can she say?

"Dragon eh? Why would ya want one of those? They're nothin' but pains, y'know." Of course, it's all true, but that's only a small part of the package you get with impressing "Who knows… ye might just get searched and impress one day." N'ano adds in as a blurt of encouragement.

Skiyra sighs "Not with my luck." Tears seemt o well up in her eyes. She stands up quickly. "I need to leave.. I.. Ah.. never mind." She drops her journa as she runs out, trying to hide her seemingly reasonless tears.

Skiyra tiptoes gracefully to the Southern Caverns.

Dhiammarath> Khory looks around. He's never been here neither, but how is he suppose to find a person in a place he's never been? "Um,.. is there anyway you can contact another rider, through your dragon?" he asks E'ren. He woudn't know, because honestly, this is all know to him.. It /is/ his first stint as a messenger you know.

Hannah blinks as the girl leaves the caverns so suddenly. She does feel bad, but what can she say? "Dhiammarath says they're looking around… " BAck to the interesting visitors..

Dhiammarath> Xeth whuffles in Dhiammarath's direction, her attention shifting from her passengers to others that might be more interesting. E'ren hums softly, nodding to Khory. "I could. Who was it… Jessa?"

Dhiammarath> "Jesha," Khory repeats, a little too hot under his thick leather jacket.

Dhiammarath senses Kiyone looking at her.

Dhiammarath> Kiyone grins at the dragons, "She is just as beautiful as Xeth." She turns to the Gold and draws the dragon in the inside, back cover.

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that she exudes the scents of sweetgrass and lemon, her voice swirling to you on a river of honeyed jade. « Welcome to Ista Weyr. »

Dhiammarath> Dhiammarath watches them curiously, though her attention is centered on the unknown green. She warbles a little, not quite sure how she's to react with visitors.

Dhiammarath> E'ren looks to Xeth, and Xeth glances back at him… for a moment, anyway. "She isn't in the Weyr. On sweeps, probably. Is there someone else you could leave the message with?" he asks hopefully. It'd be a shame to have come all this way for nothing. "Maybe someone in the Lower Caverns?"

Tstar grimaces after Skiyra and looks down at her food. Just as much at a loss for words as Hannah. "Where are they? ARe they near the barracks? Elb's starting to wake up." Elbareth meeting guests is not a sight she wants to see.

N'ano's eyes unfocus for a moment's time as he stands suddenly. Shaking it off, he grumbles "But you—fine fine… whatever." turning to face the others present, he sighs, "Byd's awake again… demandin' food and then of course, an oiling. Guess I'll see ya'll later or somethin'."

N'ano walks nonchalantly to the Southern Caverns.

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that Xeth replies with a warm, peppery flavor to her musky, sensual voice. « Thank you. Ista Weyr is much drier today than High Reaches, which is nice. »

Dhiammarath> Khory shrugs and then eyes alight upon the other dragons nearby. Ooh. More of them. And green too. He wonders if they're riders are as .. ahem.. interesting as the one beside him at the moment. "I'm sure it'll be find. If we can find someone who knows her well enough, and seems trustworthy." Though it may just be a personal message, he doesn't want to botch up his first assignment.

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that she teases the scent of green tea out of the sweetgrass and lemon concoction. « You hail from High Reaches? My lifemate is from High reaches. » A pause. « And yes, it is quite nice at Ista today. »

Hannah nods to Tstar, "They're right outside the barracks." She finishes off her water and rubs her hands on her trousers. "Dhia says the green is talking to her.."

Tstar grimaces. "Should we head that way?" her voice is too calm. concealing her worry. Never mind that Elbareth is already bigger than she is… Strangers near /her/ dragon?

Dhiammarath> Kiyone looks down at the drawing and compares it to the real model and makes a few more lines here and there, she nods and smiles, then she turns around to look around the rest of the place.

Dhiammarath> E'ren nods to Khory. "Well… I wonder which direction the Caverns are. How about if you go look, and we'll stay here and wait for you?" He'd rather sun himself and dry off a bit after all the rain at Reaches.

Tstar slides off the chair with catlike motions. "Does she say who they are?" Her eyes unfocus slightly. "Yes, elbareth, I knkow. You hear voices. I'll be right there. I was eating."

Dhiammarath> Khory nods and goes to step ahead, but then an idea holds him back. "You won't.. ugh.. leave, or anything, will ya?" he asks. He doubts it, but you never know. May be some new innitiation thing.

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that Xeth swirls sage and spice through her thoughts. « Yes. I like it when it snows, but the rain is not as fun. » She pauses, looking over the gold. « You are still young, are you not? Have you been to High Reaches yet? »

Hannah uncurls herself and gets up off the chair. "No, I don't have any idea.. only.. wait.. Dhia's just said they hail from High Reaches." She shrugs and begins to head towards the door. Might as well go see who it is.

Dhiammarath> Kiyone smiles at Khory and nods in agreement with E'ren. She unconsciencely leans on Xeth as she taps her lips with her pencil.

Dhiammarath> E'ren laughs. "Of course not. You're too cute to leave to the Istans," he assures the young man with a wink.

[Shakespeare'sWeyrlings] Char awwws.. it's almost over.

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that she thinks « I am barely shelled. I have not yet been taught how to go between nor to fly, so I have not yet seen High Reaches. I am curious now, however, to see this place of 'snow' and rain. »

Tstar walks to the Bowl.

You head out to the bowl.

Southeastern Bowl (#529)

This area of the bowl is the highest point of the bowl floor; from here, it slopes down and to the northwest, spilling out to the plateau below the wide gap in the Weyr rim to the west. Various tunnels here lead into the Weyr's inner caverns; the living caverns, hatching grounds, and main Weyr tunnel all branch off from here. To the west lie the stables where the Weyr's runners are housed. There is also a stone stairway that leads up to the Weyrleader's weyrs.

It is a summer evening. The light fades out, and night falls with welcome relief after the hot day. The first stars peek out of the night sky, and the moons rise on the horizon.

Perched on rocky crags about the bowl are Restless, Archer, Maverick, and Eiri.

Blue Cherenth, bronze Nhamarath, blue Kyanth, bronze Maraith, and brown Morath are here.

You see Winterlight here.

Central Bowl (#995)

You stand in the center of the Ista Weyr bowl. You feel small as you crane your neck to look into the sky, at the towering five pinnacles of the Weyr rim, so tall they seem to reach into the clouds. The bowl floor slopes gently upward to the southeast, where various tunnels lead to the hatching grounds, ground weyrs, and living caverns. Across the bowl to the northeast are the weyrling barracks and training grounds. You can see the Weyr's artificial waterfall as it sheets down along the northern wall of the Bowl, its pool concealed at the base of the bowl by an ethereal cloud of mist. West, the entire wall of the bowl has been blown out by some long-distant eruption, and you can see clear out to the ocean from here. The view is breathtaking.

Northeastern Bowl (#859)

The northeastern arc of the Weyr Bowl seems somewhat isolated from the rest of the weyr - with necessity, for this is the training grounds for young riders and dragons, the Weyrlings. The main entrance to the weyrling barracks is just north of here, and the ground there is well-trampled and firm, as if many feet, both human and dragon, have wandered over it dozens of times a day. Further up in the northwest corner of the bowl is the waterfall, tumbling out of the Weyr face several dragonlengths above, misting the area in a rainbow glow. On the south side of the bowl lie the ashpits and firestone supplies for the entire Weyr.

Tstar walks in from the Central Bowl.

With a blush, Khory heads off towards the Central Bowl. "I'll be right back.." However, half way cross, he bumps into other riders. "Oh.. Hi there." Coughing to clear his throat, he bows his head slightly and states, "I'm a messenger from High Reaches. Have a letter here for Jesha, from Rhoswen, to be delivered as soon as able."

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that Xeth shows thoughts that gleam silver. « High Reaches is a beautiful place. Come when there is snow, and we can crunch snow sculptures. »

<Local> Dhiammarath senses that she's curiousity weaves through her words like a string of paper lanterns. « I will. I am intrigued. »

Dhiammarath lifts her head and croons as her lifemate walks across the bowl towards her. Hannah pauses uncertainly once she spots the crowd. "Uhh.." Looking back to Tstar, she turns once again to the others. Offering a shy wave, and a soft, "Hello.."

Kiyone withdraws as the new people arrive, she stops tapping her lips with her pencil long enough to survey the new comers.

E'ren sees figures walking towards them and lifts his hand to wave. "Hello," he calls, stepping over towards them. Xeth warbles softly in greeting as well.

Hannah looks up and spots E'ren. Nodding her head, she smiles, "Hello.. I'm Hannah.." Narrowing her eyes in thought, she notices the High Reaches knot on his shoulder and wonders if she knows him. "You are from High Reaches? Do you know how Mother is doing?" The girl hasn't heard from her in a while, "Areiah…" is added to let E'ren know just who she was talking about.

You notice E'ren looking at you.

Tstar follows Hannah in, she inspects the visitors with no more expression than a single quirked eyebrow. Each of the guests gets a nod with a salute for the Rider.

Elbareth slides like a myth out of the barracks.

Kiyone backs up a bit more till she bumps into Xeth. She blushes and apologizes to the green. She then continues to survey the surroundings.

Khory turns to Tstar this time. "Um, excuse me. Do you know who Jesha is? And could you deliver this to her?" He then re-introduces himself. "I'm Khory, a messenger from High Reaches. I have a letter for Jesha, from Rhoswen." Once again, he adds, "Do you know her?"

E'ren smiles warmly in greeting. "E'ren, rider of green Xeth, from High Reaches Weyr," he introduces himself and his dragon, gesturing in her direction. "Areiah? Truth be told, it's been a while since I've spoken with her. But I haven't heard anything about any problem she might be having, so I assume she's fine. One can usually trust Reaches' gossip to bring out problems quickly." He grins lightly and winks.

Tstar blinks at Khory. "Jesha? I've seen her around, but little more than that. I could try to deliver the message, or at least find someone who /does/ know her, someone in her wing, and have them get it to her. I've not been here all that long truth be told." But sje

Tstar blinks at Khory. "Jesha? I've seen her around, but little more than that. I could try to deliver the message, or at least find someone who /does/ know her, someone in her wing, and have them get it to her. I've not been here all that long truth be told." But she's interupted as a longish bundle of green makes her way out of the barracks and buts up against Tstar's legs, inspecting those present with imperious curiosity.

Hannah turns belatedly to Khory and adds in her soft, shy voice, "Uh.. I don't know Jesha.." Not that she can recall that is. Though she is horrible with names. Moving towards her own lifemate, who is soaking up the last of the sunset, the weyrling nods at E'ren. "That is true. Gossip moves faster than wildfire up there.."

Khory nods pleasantly. "That would be wonderful, thank you." Carefully, the message is straightened out and handed over. "Here you go. Please make sure she gets it though. It's imperative." Actually, it's not, but being his first assignment and all, it's good to say so none the less.

E'ren chuckles a bit. "Gossip's high entertainment, especially in bad weather. Nothing's more interesting than who's warming up whom in the furs." E'ren's been quite a gossip in his Turns at Reaches as well. "Your lifemates are looking quite well," he remarks, nodding towards the growing dragons. "I bet you're looking forward to flying lessons, eh?"

Tevya walks in from the Central Bowl.

Kiyone absently strokes Xeth as she listens to the people around her. She smiles at the green and tucks her book under her arm.

Tevya walks in laughing gently. "Traea I'm so glad your happy!" A slight hug for her sister before glancing around, "Oh, hi Kiyone!" A beam is shot in her direction as Tevya directs her older sister over to meet her.

Tstar nods and accepts the message. "Will do, I'll mae certain she gets it. I promise." She reaches down to scratch Elbareth's eyeridges. "Very much so, though I've already had to talk her out of trying an early flight once." Tstar has no intention of getting grounded because elbareth got over enthusiastic.

Hannah has no choice but to nod her head, because she can't wait until her lifemate can fly. "Getting bigger all the time.. " is said softly to E'ren, " And yes, I can't wait until she can fly.. We're to do ground exercises until that lesson.."

Kiyone stops stroking the dragon to look at the voice saying her name, a bit startled. "Tevya…how good to see you.

Khory nods as the promise is made, and with another bow, the young man returns to stand halfway between E'ren and Kiyone, the only two people he knows here. "Well," he half whispers to the rider beside him, "That wasn't so hard.." Of course, there's still the ride home. Yipe!

Kiyone smiles fondly at Tevya the first person she met at the weyr, then she looks to E'ren to see if they are ready to leave.

E'ren smiles, nodding, recalling the excitement of weyrling lessons—as well as the impatience to be in the air, flying, without restrictions. "There's plenty to enjoy about the age they are now, of course. I hope you'll come visit us at Reaches when you're finally allowed." He casts a grin at Khory and nods. Ride home? That'll be plenty of fun! He's not ready to leave right this second, though.

"Well met Kiyone," Traea says rather boisterously. Good 'ol Traea was the extrovert.. "Nice to see you once again Kiyone. I was just helping my family get settled in here and Kiyone was giving me the grand tour. She's thinking about joining the weyr here." A slight nod in her sisters direction before turning to the others, "I'm Tevya," a slight pause before motioning with a wide gesture to her sister, "And this is Traea, my older sister."

Hannah smiles softly, "I've enjoyed ever minute of her growth.." Nodding shyly to Traea, the weyrling adds her own introduction back, "Wel met, I'm Hannah, rider of Dhiammarath." Still strange to identify herself that way.

Tstar nods politely. "i will."

Khory decides to step forward and introduces himself again to the other rider. "Well met Tevya, I'm Khory.. New High Reaches messenger." Ergo, the reason he's here.

"I remember you!" Tevya exclaims suddenly, "You Impressed here at Ista, the gold right?" A slight shake of her head, "That was something else." Her gaze switches from Hannah to the others, "Well met Khory," A slight nod before she breaks into a grin, "Ah, always looking for messengers at the Reaches."

E'ren grins at Hannah. "I don't suppose you have any Istan gossip to have us help spread around Pern?" he asks brightly. "Or… if you'd like us to give a message to Areiah, we have a faithful and industrious High Reaches Weyr messenger right here," he says, gesturing to Khory.

Khory bows his head. "I'd be glad to bring it to her," he tacks on to E'ren's statement.

Kiyone flips through her book to find a blank page so that she could keep busy as the others talk, a frown graces her lips as she continues flipping not finding an space. She looks up to look at the others to see if they are looking at her.

Hannah blushes to the roots of her hair, "Uh… yeah…" is murmured shyly in Tevya's direction, her gaze drifting down for a moment. Saria's words resurface themselves and echo through her mind and she lifts her head. Smiling softly at E'ren, "No gossip here. Being confined to the barracks.. well that sort of hinders the gathering of gossip." Turning to Khory, "Could you tell Mother that I am well and can't wait until she is able to visit?"

E'ren chuckles. "Well, I'm sure interesting things happen in the barracks, but I understand if you don't want to snitch on your clutchmates." He winks to show he's joking. "Though… I don't suppose you'd get news of who's climbing into the furs with whom," he admits slowly.

Khory nods his head again. "Certainly miss," he tells the girl. Mentally, he records that, and stops to asks, "Will that be all, or anything else you'd like to say to her?" Yeah, like, 'Hey ma, weather's fine. A sharding big difference from the frozen rock you call hom…' ?? Khor smiles inspite of himself.

It was Tevyas turn to turn red now, catching Hannas reaction. Tev was use to being the one to turn red. A tiny apologetic grin is given to her before Tevya turns back to Kiyone, "So what've you been up to? I havent seen you for a few days." Traea, meanwhile interacts with the other group, smiling not to shyly either.

"That's all.." CHuckling slowly, Hannah adds to E'ren. "Ah, no.. no cover climbing here.." Tevya is nodded at, her cheeks still tinged pink.

E'ren smiles almost innocently, though no one might believe that of him. "Well, I'm sure when you finally graduate, you'll have plenty of news of 'cover climbing'. I did suggest you should come to High Reaches when you're allowed, didn't I?" Ahem. He isn't /quite/ hitting on the weyrlings….

Now that his work is over, Khory saunters off to visit with Xeth. Slender hand comes up to scritch the dragon once again, and he tries to ignore the thread of the conversation behind him. Shardit. Is that /all/ riders talk about?

Hannah blushes at E'ren's comment and his-not-/quite/-attempted-pick-up-line. "Ahh.. yes.. I will definitely want to visit home.. " Or ex-home since Ista is her home home now.

"Tev, moms calling us!" Traea says, mustering all the dignity she could. With a flourish and a flip of her hair, she turns back to the crowd, "Well it was nice meeting all of you." A slight nod of her head and she walks off a bit, waiting for Tevya.

Xeth rumbles softly from her spot sprawled in the sun, shifting a bit closer to Khory. From her reactions, you'd think E'ren positively ignores her when they're alone.

Khory brings his brows together as the dragon comes slinking up. He then wonders what it would be like to be always attached to another mind, the way these riders were with their lifemates. "It must be nice.. to have someone who'll never leave you.." he mumbles, only loud enough that himself, and Xeth, can hear.

Tevya turns in the general direction of the voice before turning back to Kiyone, "Shards..I should head back now. Well it was nice seeing you again!" A quick smile before she tilts her body slightly towards the other group. "Hannah, E'ren, Khory..it was nice meeting you all." A slight twitch of her lips as she eyes the green, "Oh, she is lovely.." hazel eyes light softly, "Good luck with classess too Hannah!" A quick wave before she excuses her self and joins her sister, a small laugh heard as they disappear from view.

Hannah nods, "Nice meeting you too.. " Dhiammarath croons to Xeth as she herself seeks out her lifemate. Oiling time. Reaching out a hand, the weyrling strokes that soft white-gold hide of hers.

Hannah hugs Tevya! Tevya blushes faintly and returns your hug whilst her 'troope' flitters and scampers 'round you.

Tevya hugs Hannah! Hannah peeks out from behind Dhiammarath and gives you a shy smile. She encourages Dhiammarath to snake out a honey-tipped tail to wrap around you in a large *sqeeze*! « A hug from Hannah. »

Tevya goes home.

E'ren waves to Tevya and Traea before grinning again at Hannah. Maybe he just delights in making young people blush. He's actually like this most of the time, though he's worse when Xeth is proddy. A little glow isn't developing on the green's hide, is it? "Yes, nice meeting you too. Maybe we should get back to High Reaches as well…."

Khory calls back, "Well met!" before closing in on the dragon, one hand out to reach her. However, Xeth's riders words are heard, and he halts his movement. Turning, he lowers his hand, and begins to walk back towards the crowd. "Just makes sure Jesha gets that letter please," he tells the departing riders.

Kiyone closes her book and tucks it safely under one arm as she smiles to the others and nods. She waits quietly next to Xeth.

"IT was nice to meet you," Hannah smiles, "But it's time for Dhiammarath to get some attention and oiling…" Turning to KHory and Kiyone, "It was nice to meet you…"

E'ren grins and nods. "Definately nice. Take good care of Dhiammarath," he urges, turning back towards Xeth, who gives a good stretch in preparation for flight. "You guys ready?" he asks, looking to his passengers.

Kiyone smiles at E'ren, "Indeed." She says nothing more but waits for her turn to mount Xeth.

Khory nods his head. "Yep. All ready when you are."

Hannah moves to wards the barracks, Dhiammarath following her.

Weyrling Barracks (#2652)

Large as it is, the barracks seem small when filled with the constant activity of weyrlings and dragonets, working, learning, or playing. The couches each show touches of the individuals who occupy them, all of them kept swept clean as the WLMs demand, but with a variety of cushions and coverings neatly folded or scattered across them. The clothespresses are full, some not so tidily closed as they should be. Fresh glowbaskets are strategically placed about the room, ready to cast their light over the dark walls. At the northern end of the room are shelves containing a variety of supplies necessary for the care of young dragons, and over the shelves hang a number of charts and pictures. Off to one side is the everpresent vat of oil and trays of meat for the growing dragonets.

Gliding about are Eti, Malse, Zerosu, Arm, Prometheus, Hey, Twilight, Zlantine, Furby, Sip, Orion, Tempest, Sartan, Forseti, and Noegip.

Dhiammarath's Cherry Blossom Escape (#19272)

Clean and sparse adequately describe Dhiammarath's couch. While being sparse in decorations, her couch is homey and inviting with the faint smell of jasmine and lemon clinging to the area that is reserved for the new queen. Soft rushes provide the matting for the dragon's couch, while a futon-like bed is neatly placed to one side for Hannah to sleep one when she is not curled up next to her lifemate.

Gliding about are Mosquiton, Chiernathe, and Inaho.

You see Saturn stuffed flit, Hatching Rules, and Capricious Patchwork Gold Llama Bebe here.
