Cinestioth

Congratulations on impressing a dragon here at Ista Weyr! We hope that Cinestioth is everything that you could want in a lifemate, though this inspiration is
just a guideline for how to play your dragon. You are not required to follow all or any of it. The dragon is /yours/. Lyria (who read Fight Club in one weekend for you and dug out her copy of the Princess Bride and is now officially the Blurb/Quote Queen) and N'ano (who is a most excellent descer, message writer, and had a new insp/message to put up every night) have put many hours into the creation of your dragon, and we are excited to see how you develop the personality in your own, unique way. — Lyria and N'ano

Clutching Pose
Quarith rumbles quietly, kicking her leg out and rolling a bit on her side as though that would give her comfort during this most uncomfortable stage in her laying. Realizing that it doesn't, she rolls back up and shuffles over to an unoccupied area of sand where she lays down, her back legs moving the sand a bit to create a tiny pit. Rumbling gives way to
creeling and her breathing becomes labored, each huff sending a sprinkling cloud of sand in the direction of her lifemate. Moments pass, in what seems to be hours, and as Quarith finally gets up and moves away, behind she leaves the glistening Mysterious Guerrero Egg.

Mysterious Guerrero Egg
A large egg, this round orb that rests on the black
warming sands of the Ista Weyr hatching grounds shines
with an iridescence that is uncommon, but not at all
unsightly. The shell is fairly uniform in color, not
varying in the slightest as far as shade or intensity, primarily black, the sheen tinged in brown. Thin wisps of purest white curl in an interesting ballet of decoration in stark contrast to the dark, mysterious, yet simple background of jet. Twirling around, twisting here and scooping there, sparkling ivory lines sprawl across the shell. In fact, when one takes a brief glance at the egg, why… it looks like it's made up of three sombreros?

Hatching Message
Mysterious Guerrero Egg gives one last forceful rock onto its side, a dark muzzle bursting through the end of the egg with a creeling of victory. A wing tip slices its way out, then an arm and finally with a triumphant cracking of egg shell, a resolute little
dragonet, near-black while still wet with eggy gooeyness, makes his appearance, stumbling out onto the sands.

The Little Dragon That Could Dragonet
Midnight silhouettes cascade over numbed landscape, it’s earthy sorrel hue accented by flecks of ice like an early spring frost. Thunder ripples through veins of might, echoed by unfurled wings as they take to the skies of Pern. Muddy stains engulf his haunches, drying off into arid sienna clay producing a ventral shadow. Auburn forms a quiet pool along his mandible, caressing his accented cheekbones before flooding into rapids, only coming to a calm within the valleys of his orbs; beholders of this brown’s perseverance.

Impression Message
The Little Dragon that Could Dragonet’s voyage nears its end-determination drawing him one step closer to the token of sought. Potential candidates are plentiful, but alas, only one will be his treasure. Perhaps this one… maybe it’s the ebon locks, or the serenity within this young man’s pale green eyes, but fate has it that this infantile impressionable mind has chosen his companion. Together, Pendren and he will become one.

Personal Impression Message
An aura of tranquility engulfs you as a particularly desiccated dragonet draws near without a second look. His eyes meet yours and the moment can’t last more than a second before your mind is overwhelmed with a light tenor voice « H'lo. Is this seat taken?» After a searching pause, a bubbling of content orange fireworks ensue «Oh good. I'm Cinestioth. And you're my Pendren. Would you mind giving me a nice bath with some soap and then oil me? I’m very /very/ itchy. I do not like this sand very much. »

Name Inspiration
" Before I met Tyler, I was planning to buy myself a
dog and name it 'Entourage'." - Fight Club

Well there's no need for that because Cinestioth is
your entourage. The Latin translation for entourage is
" comes -itis", which means 'a fellow traveler', hence companion. The other element of the name is 'consotio -onis' which means 'companionship', like the companionship between Harry and Ron, and now you and your Cinestioth. So with a bit of tweaking we came up with Cinestioth. For pronunciation, we were thinking 'kin-ES-tee-oath'.

Egg Inspiration
This egg's genre is a mix between Comedy and Western! It's based on the Three Amigo's! You know, with Martin Short as Ned Nederlander, Chevy Chase as Dusty Bottoms, and Steve Martin as Lucky Day. In Mexico in 1916, the poor village of Santa Poco is being
terrorized and despoiled by the notorious bandit chieftain El Guapo, his henchman Jefe, and their army of ferocious outlaws. Carmen, a beautiful young woman from the village, sends a desperate plea for help to three men whom she has seen fighting oppression and
conquering evil, those dashing stars of the silent screen, the "Three Amigos!" On screen, Lucky Day, Dusty Bottoms, and Ned Nederlander are fearless romantic heroes. But in real life, they're innocent, bumbling guys sweetly sheltered by the luxuries of stardom. Those luxuries are suddenly stripped away when the fast talking Lucky demands a new contract from the movie mogul Harry Flugelman. Instead, Flugelman fires the trio. The
cable from Carmen comes just in time. Assuming they've been asked to make a personal appearance, at a whopping fee of 100,000 pesos, the trio takes of for Santa Poco. There, they think the bandits are fellow actors and put on a performance that dumbfounds the
outlaws. But Lucky, Dusty and Ned soon discover the bullets and bandits are real, and so is there chance to become real heroes. When El Guapo attacks Santa Poco and kidnaps Carmen, the Amigos cross the desert and infiltrate his fortress. They rescue Carmen and
narrowly escape in a biplane. Now they must rally the people of Santa Poco to fight for their freedom. Because, after all, they are, the "Three Amigos!" Their motto is: Wherever there is injustice, you will find us. Wherever there is suffering, we'll be there.
Wherever liberty is threatened, you will find… The Three Amigos!

Description Inspiration
Picture—hmm, picture burnt-sienna barren land crisped with ice crystals early in the morning before the sun starts to rise over the horizon. His upper hide could almost past for being sunburned whereas his bottom half has the rustic mud-appeal, fading from the plain brown of molasses to light brown sugar as it blends nicely into his dorsal half. His wings are described as having that thundery sound as they take to the skies. So that pretty much gives comparison to the rest of his body as being quite brawny. His facial features are smooth-colored, slightly striped near-to the eye ridges. It’s doesn’t stand out considerably, but rather, it creams together into his eye ridges.

Mindvoice
" Spiders? I don't like spiders…." - Ron Weasly

You guessed it. Just call him a wherry at heart. Spiderclaws, crawlers, tunnelsnakesthey're all creepy crawly and he'd rather just not deal with them at all. He's not afraid to tell you though. In fact, he'll tell /you/ to deal with him. His inner child tends to brings out the worse of himhis high tenor squeaking and cracking to an alto when frightened.
This also holds true when just carrying on a simple conversation with you, his lifemate, or fellow dragons. He can't help it. He won't consider it a curse though… some ladies think it's cute! His tone is smooth and almost mellow yet holds power to it, whether it be from the words he chooses to speak or just his accent. Overall, he's one to stop and smell the roses before responding… Contemplating playing a key roll of choice over matter. And he's always got an answer for a question.

" Why do you wear a mask and hood?"
" I think everybody will in the near future. They're
terribly comfortable."
-The Princess Bride

Amusing maybe only to himself or you, Pendren, and a satisfactory answer to the question-asker, but witty all the same. As for color, we've got a bubblegum pink and a pumpkin orange on a black background, appearing like fuzzy fireworks, in quick succession when excited, or lazily, slowly when he's calm and mellow. Did we mention that fresh scent of soap accompanying his voice when chatting with you? But when he's embarrassed or frightened and nervous, beware, for those colors turn into a brilliant blushing orange-red with the taste of pumpkin and maybe even a hint of chocolate. Mmm…Soap and Pumpkin juice.

Physicalities
'In a multitude of tiny ways, he was of a slightly higher quality. A hair quicker, a fraction stronger, a speck faster. Not really much at all. but it was enough.' - Inigo, on Westley

… Enough to make Cinestioth one of the better fit
dragons of the Weyr. With proper training by the Weyrlingmasters, you’ll no doubt help to coach your lifemate into a true team player. Sure, he may have his woes at times, but battles are hardly feared like those spiderclaws. If track were a sport of dragons, it’d be /his/ game. Be it a marathon or a simple meet, he’d indefinitely come out in the top three - more often than not number one. Cinestioth’s without a doubt, a very strong beast. It certainly comes with his size. Being one of the larger browns of Ista Weyr, he’s quite comparable to some of the smaller bronzes, even. He’s not the largest, but undoubtedly a close second or third. Cinestioth’s best comparison would probably be to Tyler Durden-physically, at least, with Westley's determination to better himself. Did you notice the darkness of Cinestioth's hide? Cinestioth is the dragon in black (as opposed to the man in black…)

Inigo: "You are amazing"
Westley: "Thank you. It has not come without effort."

Personality
" A minute of perfection is worth the effort." – Tyler Durden

Determined and dedicated are the key words to Cinestioth. Cinestioth will strive and strive for perfection, even if it is just for a fleeting moment, until he gets it. And if he can't reach perfection, he'll just keep trying for it.

" Are you the kind of man who would put the poison into his own glass, or the glass of his enemy?" - Vizzini

Uh…Neither. He's the kind of man - dragon? – who would put the poison he's immune to into both glasses, for everything deserves careful and precise plotting and planning. Including anything he's about to say. Any word that comes out of Cinestioth's mouth - mind? - is thought over before said, to result in well-placed, witty remarks. Cinestioth is always prepared, for anything and everything, and makes sure he is such.

" …I am smiling now."
" Why?"
" Because I'm not left-handed either," said the man in black.

Luckily, Cinestioth is a quick thinker, which proves useful in fighting thread, or general banter with his lifemate or friends.

« Squoosh him P'renn! Squoosh him for me! »

Cinestioth does have a few weak spots, however. Especially that touchy little fear of spiderclaws that he has. He's not terribly fond of crawlies or tunnelsnakes or anything else that creeps, but, oh, those spiderclaws especially. If he wasn't dragon-sized, he would go squealing and squeaking and hide under a table at the littlest spiderclaw.

" Who are you?"
" I am no one to be trifled with."
-The Princess Bride

One would certainly not want to be on your bad side, Pendren, for your protector is lurking just around the corner, ready to go put on a nice knight-in-shining-armor (or, more appropriately, man in black and a mask?) act to save the distressed You. He'll do anything to save you, including flying illegally up to your room and pull off barred windows to get you out. Or if for any reason your safety is feared or in danger, Cinestioth…well he'll probably be stopping you from doing anything like that.

Flight Message
" In Tyler's world there are no rules, no limits, no breaks," - Fight Club

The same holds true to flights for Cinestioth. Wings unfurled are no match to the ordinary. Flights could very well be considered his specialty-mating, fighting thread or soaring the skies of Pern alike.

Fezzik: "You're very quick"
Westley: "And a good thing, too"

He's no doubt one of the swiftest, contrary to his bulk. Acrobatics are certainly a favorite of his. He's got skills and he certainly knows it. Mating flights are simplicity to him; greens and even the small golds often go for his charismatic charm, allowing him to be
their suitor. Very complimentary one he is.

" There are too few perfect breasts in the world; 'twould be a pity to ruin yours," - Westley

Determination is his middle name. If he doesn't succeed the first time, there's no doubt he’ll just push himself harder the next time. Challenges can be overthrown when effort is given his undivided attention. Once he finds that one perfect lady love, he's allll hers, though. He'll go through fireswamps and sail stormy seas to stay with her.

" It appears to me as if we're doomed, then," Buttercup said. Westley looked at her. "Doomed, madam?"
" To be together. Until one of us dies."
" I've done that already, and I haven't the slightest intention of ever doing it again," Westley said.
Buttercup looked at him. "Don't we sort of have to sometime?"
" Not if we promise to outlive each other, and I make that promise now."

The bond between lifemates is inseparable. You live together. You die together… more often than not the former of the two. Thread’s no challenge that can’t be overcome with a little bit of teamwork. With the mental capacity you two bestow together, it’s no wonder that thread even dares come your way. Alas it sometimes does, but when it crosses the line to threaten your safety, Cinestioth in on it faster than you could have him blink ::between::.
